“I am currently working as a postdoctoral Research Officer in animal sentience and welfare at the London School of Economics, as part of the Foundations of Animal Sentience project.
My primary research interests are animal welfare, ethics and consciousness.
I completed my PhD at the Australian National University in 2020. The topic of my PhD research was measurement of animal welfare and my thesis is available to download here.
I have also previously worked for many years as a zookeeper and zoo animal welfare officer, interested in the application of animal welfare measurement in an applied zoo setting.
My partner Walter Veit is also a philosopher/scientist.
