Political philosopher at University of Sheffield. His main research interest is in 'animal politics' and his publications include Sentientist Politics: A Theory of Global Inter-Species Justice (OUP Oxford, 2018), Animal Rights without Liberation (Columbia, 2012) and An Introduction to Animals and Political Theory (Palgrave, 2010). His other research interests engage with a broad range of topical ethical issues, most notably human rights, environmental ethics, bioethics, food ethics, and the ethics of imprisonment.
