The Global Journal of Animal Law is an open-access legal journal. We welcome all submissions addressing the legal status of animals. In addition to doctrinal investigations, we are also happy to consider manuscripts falling under legal philosophy/theory, comparative law, political theory, socio-legal studies, empirical legal studies as well as other cognate disciplines. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
The journal has two main sections. Articles are always subjected to a double-blind peer review. The reviewer(s) will assess the whole of the manuscript for its factual accuracy, methodological soundness and interestingness. The length of the manuscript should not exceed 10,000 words (footnotes excluded), though exceptions can be made. Notes are shorter contributions. A Note can, for instance, be a survey of the animal welfare legislation of a particular jurisdiction.
In addition to the aforementioned main sections, the Journal also publishes Dissertation Summaries of no more than 1,000 words in order to increase knowledge of recent advancements in the field of animal law. The dissertation need not have been written in English.
